I installed a game which suggested, to improve performance and if I have a dvd drive to go into the driver setup and click the box next to the dma. I ignored the warning. I restarted my system and it would promptly lock up everytime. I would disconnect my dvd drive and the system will work fine.
How do I reverse what I did?. Thanx

- Connect your DVD to PC, turn it on and press F8 when you "Starting Windows 9x"
- Select "Start in Safe Mode" and when Windows are loaded go in Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> CDROM and deactivate DMA Setting.
Good Luck!!!
