Hi,

A computer was just given to and it has a username and password when I log on. Is there any way to delete this?.

Go to Control panel/passwords and click on user profiles, then click the top option (all users have same preferences etc) This should stop the system requesting a password. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hello Kaye,
You may also need to R-click on Network Places>properties>set primary logon to "Widows Logon"

Hi Kaye,

Another solution is to temporarily remove the CMOS battery and leave out for an hour or so (the longer the better) and when you put it back in, it will have forgotten all previous settings and you can start anew.

Go in Windows folder and delete from there the file that have name like the username and extension PWL. Ex: user.pwl
Restart your PC and type any username and password u want.
