Hi all!
A mate of mine want's me to upgrade his machine from win95 to win98.
Do I install straight over win95 or start from new. He hasn't got the win95 disk.
Thanks,
kfh.

Hey,
It all depends on how much data in WIN95 the person wants to keep. If there is a lot of data, then an over-install is OK to do. You will need to purchase the upgrade CD for this.
However, if the person doesn't care about losing data, then a format and fresh install of WIN98 is OK to do. Usually, a fresh install is preferred over an over-install. For that, you will need the original WIN98 CD, not the upgrade.
There is a way to do a fresh install with the upgrade CD, but since the person doesn't have the WIN95 disk, that won't work, so never mind I said that. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Post back if further questions.
Have fun!
