Profile ?

I have just registered and cannot enter my profile because a panel comes up saying that I am not allowed to access the issue.

How can I participate if I am not even allowed to enter my profile ?

Welcome to the forum, Kaiser.

I believe you have to make a few posts on the forum (I can't remember the exact number offhand), and then you can flesh out your profile. You don't need the information there to participate; just start posting away.

There is a tiered 'feature' structure.

You don't get to edit your profile until you have demonstrated that you are not going to be a 'one off' poster. Basically that means, you're stuck with what you entered at registration for a short while. Not a game killer or anything like that...

And, once you do get to edit your profile the changes are retroactive...meaning your sig/avatar/etc will show up in ALL your previous posts.

It just puzzled me, because when I first logged on, it said to enter my profile, then when I tried it said I was not allowed to.

You're welcome, Kaiser. It confused me a little too when I first came here, but then I read about it on one of the sticky threads (I can't remember where offhand).

It was done this way for a very specific reason...to combat a form of spam that primarily targets computer help forums.
