hi,
i am about to install my new CD-RW. I already have a 12X DVD-ROM, how should i re-arrange the set up for both drives now that I have the CD-RW? keep the DVD-ROM as a master and put the cd-rw as a slave? or the other way around?

thank you

I have found that it works best to install the cd-rw as the master
Then install the second drive as the slave.
In your case Just change the jumper on the dvd-cd to slave
then select the master setting for the new drive.
You should have no hassles after that.
BTW. Remember to set your bios to auto-detect for that controller

I have mine set as Master on 2nd IDE and DVD set as slave on Primary IDE thus allowing disk copying direct instead of copying to HDD first. Only loose a CD-R disk when I do something stupid this way
