View Full Version : Amazon sells out
I find this rather disturbing. It seems that Amazon has grown sufficiently desperate that they now want to start selling their customers' personal information.
I hope this backfires for them bigtime, and suspect that it will. The article is at http://www.pcworld.com/pcwtoday/article/0,1510,18461,00.html

that is disturbing, I am glad I never buy from that website... it is too pricey anyway.
I want to take this opportunity to once again thank charles for all the hard work he is putting into this website, and all the time he spends posting on this forum. I know his job is not easy, and so it is good for him to know he is appreciated by us all.

ReddDogg,
a note of agreement. Charles does a great job & deserves our appreciation.
Thought...that was an easy post & advanced me one more posting towards the exalted title of "Geek Adept". He, he, he. Just lucky nobody can read your thoughts. He, he, he.
Whoa...wait a minute.
Doh!!!
Cheers.......Son of Zeus.

Yep, I've been reading a lot about these startups who don't really have anything worth a damn except maybe a couple of heavy-duty servers and 50,000-100,000 unique users http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
It's amazing how often people provide their genuine personal information on a web page. You just don't DO that! But, maybe that's just my generation...
I'd like to see a strong consumer backlash against Amazon for this action, but I wonder...people are pretty lazy...I know lots of folks who rant and rave about hating Starbucks and swear blind they'll never go into one, but they're the first in line when that local deli or coffee shop goes under to make way for the corporate choice...

If everyone who said they hated McDonald's actually never ate there, they'd have gone out of business years ago. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
