Hi

I have a netbook running windows 7 home premium and every do often when we boot it up, it will not allow us to open any programmes.

I have gone into safe mode and it works fine, I have, using Ccleaner, disabled all programmes from starting, it worked fine for a time but is now doing it again, I checked in safe mode all works fine, and nothing is running in start up, have booted back into normal, and nothing wants to open again?

So frustrating?

Cheers

Derek

Have you scanned your PC for malware? It's possible the associations have been screwed up by an infection.

classicsoftware can guide you through the process of checking your machine.

Have run Malwarebytes anti malware and Iobit's Advanced System Care in safe mode found some problems with both programmes, and it seems to be behaving itself so far

Your two threads need to be merged. They are so related and redundant it's getting to the point if one gets answered, when we click into the other we find details that should have been in the other and would have influenced our replies.

Two different laptops, having separate different issues?

Anyway I would'nt know how and even if I am able to merge them, I don't really mind either way as long as I get the problems fixed.

You really should check for malware before doing these.

Do these to clear corruption and repair/replace damaged/missing system files.

Run DiskCleanup - Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup

Start - type in Search box - COMMAND find at top of list - RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN

sfc /scan now

Then run checkdisk - schedule it to run at next start and then Apply OK your way out then restart.

Obit Security 360 is a rogue security program known to cause system problems and that had stolen material from other computer security companies to use in their own program.
IOBit Steals Malwarebytes’ Intellectual Property (http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=126267)
IOBit’s Denial of Theft Unconvincing (http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/index.php?showtopic=126286)
The program has also been seen to cause numerous system problems that tend to go away after uninstalling their software.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs and remove the following programs:
IObit Security 360
Advanced SystemCare
(or any program from IObit)

T-Tools (http://www.t-tools.nl/) has created a free program that has been designed specifically to remove every last trace of the entries of IObit programs left behind if and when you had decided to uninstall one or more of these programs. Please download BitRemover from here:
http://www.t-tools.nl/bitremoveren.php
Save the program to your Desktop and double-click on the program to run it.

I did a system restore using the installed Windows 7 recovery mode and everything is OK now.
