I've checked this site on two PCs with IE and the problem is that the background is not blocked out in the text area, so you cannot read the text. The text is right on top of the background images.

Any ideas?

It renders fine with me in both Firefox and Chrome though not in IE.

It does not verify with W3C (http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fmagiclantern.wikia.com%2Fwi ki%2FUnified%2FUserGuide%23How_do_I_record_for_mor e_than_12_minutes.3F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0), which you seemed to think was important in a recent thread.

Any ideas?
Avoid Microsoft whenever possible.

Thanks for the confirmation, Paul.

Yes, I do think the W3C validation is important. HTML is raw code that must be executed by a browser, so we are free from the compiler stage to convert to executable binary.

There are plenty of sites that do not execute properly in FireFox either, namely YouTube. Nobody is happy with bad code.

BTW, this is not really related to the issue, but IE is still one of the most popular browsers. So, from an anti-Occupy Wall Street point of view, one must cater to the masses...

It intrigued me as to why this appeared to be an IE only problem since IE is normally the most lax with regard to W3C standards.

Turns out it is no different but the zoom setting was different. If I zoom out (ctrl -) it renders the same as firefox/chrome. Once the two sides overap all the central text has nowhere to run to. Its just bad web design with inappropriate fixed widths.

Never noticed any problems and I use FF over 99% of the time and go to YouTube very often everyday. But occasionally I do find a site which does not work well in FF. There was a time I was paying my electric bill online and needed to use IE as that was the only way it worked. My utility company has since then broadened which browsers able to use the site and I now do not need to open a new Window with IE just to be able to use their site for BillPay.

The only problem with YT is on a user's channel page. the video slider is cut off at the bottom, so you can't get to the bottom. it depends on how the user has configured their page though.

i'm playing with chrome now
