Yes, I have done alot of research, have over 27 printed pages, and still confused. I now have 2 Netgear PCI FA311 installed. A yellow crossover cable with both ends differant. I went to wal mart and bought Linksys networking with cards, cable, and hub. Can and how do I use my yellow cable or does it have to be a straight cable? Can I use the 2 netgear cards I have now? Do I have to use windows 98SE internet sharing? I have gotten 3 or 4 differant ways to do peer to peer networking and have tried 2 and it did not work. I am a country bumkin so please give me links with step by step instruction. Many thanks Andy and by the time I get through with this I will be a pro. MAYBE

Hello Andy,
If you have NICs already installed and are using a crossover cable, you will not need any of the Linksys kit.
If you ever plan to have more than 2 machines on this network, then keep the kit.
Yes you can use the installed NICs with the Linksys hub. It is said to be technicaly wise to use same brand components, I do not subscribe to this.
You cannot use the crossover cable from NIC to Hub. Use the supplied cables. The hub achieves the IN-to-OUT/OUT-to-IN crossover.
You do not have to use Windows ICS. I recommend you don't, it is giving me fits http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif
You can try a search on Google (http://www.google.com) for some info on other programs for internet connection sharing. I don't have anything in particular that I can point you to.
As for ways to set up a Peer-to-Peer network, if you are only running 95, 98, 98SE, or ME, you are only going to get a Peer-to-Peer. Try the Help under "Start" and look up "Setting up a home network." Follow the prompts and you should be good to go.
