I have a data limited plan via a USB data connect card. I use a cradlept router for wifi. If I move pics from my iphone to my pc is that using data from my connect card? I always assumed it was but decided to ask in the hopes that is not the case. 5gbs go fast!
Thanks

Anything that passes through the router counts.

That was not a dumb question. It does remind me of the time I attended a class and the instructor asked if anyone has any questions. I said, "Well--I have a question but it may be a dumb question." The instructor said, "Frank, you know that there is no such thing as a dumb question." So, I asked the question. The instructor paused for a moment and then said, "Now that one comes close." I think she was just joking--I hope she was just joking.:)

Could you clarify exactly which router you are using and whether it still functions as a LAN WiFi router when and if the aircard can be removed from it?
I'm not sure if the use of SIM cards is the same in the US as in Europe - so I may be off-track.
Presumably this is a laptop with intrinsic WiFi. If so I think you should be able to set up an ad hoc wifi network under Windows (by the way which version of Windows?) and connect the iPhone directly to the PC without using any router.

YouTube WiFi Photo - Wirelessly Transfer iPhone Pictures (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tgNFDv_tls) might be of interest.
You could also consider using bluetooth instead of wifi. The phone is able and a bluetooth usb widget can be had for well under $10 (I got mine for about $5) if your computer isn't 'ready'. Youtube vid:

I agree with FTT - bluetooth should be a straighforward and cheap way to go.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I do thank you for taking time to reply. I will try bluetooth.
