We recently received some new computers at work loaded with Win 2000 Pro/Office 2000 Pro. The first problem my boss had was when he tried to open a .jpg attachment in e-mail. He double-clicked it, and the "Open with" box popped up, like Outlook didn't recognize the file. The only program listed to select was Microsoft Photo imager, which worked, but I thought there was another program to associate with this type of file.
Is this the only way? I have Win NT/Office 2000 Pro on my desk and have no problem opening jpg files. What gives?
Thanks in advance for the help!

You can also use Internet Explorer to view jpg files. To associate jpg files with Internet Explorer you can reinstall IE or follow these steps.
Find a JPG file on your computer
Click the right mouse button on the file
Select Open With and if a menu pops out, select Choose Program...
In the box that opens up select Internet Explorer ( http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif If you want to use a different program select it, or browse for the program by selecting Browse.)
If you want jpg files to always default to opening in the program you selected, check on the option "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file.

I did a post a few weeks ago part of the problem of which was saving as .jpg (the post can be viewed here)

the answer turned out to be caused by an update to Office, there is a fix for this on the ms site.
maybe that the problems related.
