Mrs.Maverick54 Welcome to pc guide question:W/95 and msconfig
In Windows 95, select Start > Run and type sysedit. This opens up a multipaned window that lists the contents of autoexec.bat, config.sys, and all the relevant INI files. (These files make it possible for 16-bit and older applications to run on Windows 95 through Windows Me.) The autoexec.bat and config.sys files may show some executable files and drivers being loaded at start-up. To remove them, type rem at the beginning of the appropriate line. In the win.ini file, look for programs listed after the load= and run= lines at the top. You can remove individual references or just place a semicolon ( http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif in front of the entire line to keep them from loading. In system.ini, you'll see device drivers shown this way: sound.drv=mmsound.drv.
Unfortunately, Windows 95 doesn't come with msconfig, a handy utility found in Windows 98 and Me that lets you also view programs loaded via the Registry. (Windows 2000 doesn't come with msconfig either, but that's because more of its start-up options are accessible via the Control Panel.) The next best thing for Windows 95 is to download Windows Startup Editor or Startup Control Panel.

Hi Mrs. Maverick54,
If you know anyone with win98, you can copy msconfig to a floppy disc and install it in your system file folder and you too will be the proud owner of msconfig on a win 95 system.
Works like a charm. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey,
Go to the site below to download msconfig for WIN95. Make note that it's a zip file.
