Operating system? And when does the errors occur when you boot or while your already running windows? Did you add any software recently, uninstall and reinstall and seee if it clears it up/

You ought to be able to boot up in safe mode. At least you will be able to get into windows, as safe mode boot skips a lot of files including the autoexec and config.sys files during bootup. Then go to Start > Run, and type in sysedit (if it's not already there). This will let you get into a number of text files including autoexec and config.sys. You can open up both files and try to figure out what lines to replace. Perhaps consult a win98 manual, or find somebody that knows what they are doing. You should not have to reinstall your entire OS because of this. Maybe others would disagree, but this is how I would at least start.

Might have a virus, do you have a virus protection? Is it updated? If so scan your computer, this sounds like virus, if it just came out of the blue like that

Hi Jolly,
What is the exact error message? Can you get into Windows anyway? Are you familiar with DOS?
If you edited something out, you can edit something in. If you are not sure what you removed, the error message should give enough of a clue as to what to put back.
They are pretty simple files to work with once you understand what they do.

Please let us know if what we suggest helps. This helps us help you better.
Do you need the CD for the DOS game to work?
Also you may want to figure out which XMS memory manager you are trying to load, if you are loading more than one (which is what it looks like) then remove one of them (himem should probaly stay), and don't try to load a mem manager in both autoexec and config.sys...
You can remove an item by typing the word rem (followed by a space) in front of the line.
Read up on how to start your game with a boot disk here (http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/Forum15/HTML/000603.html)...trust me it is a lot easier than it looks and it gives you the added benfit of not having to mess with your main system configuration.
