How do I reinstall program

I was installing Nero 5.5 demo and Easy CD. Somehow the 2 programs has conflicts. I tried to delete one and reinstall the other. Somehow the programs got deleted. Now when I put in either dics(Nero or Easy CD) it will halt mycomputer and give me a blue screen with memory faults. I have to restart the computer. How do I completely eliminate all previous installation files or record of these programs and fix this memory fault problems. Do I have to delete all related files in the registry? do not edit the registry!

boot to Option 6 "Command Prompt Only" (by pressing F8 when pc 1st boots)

at the C:\> (prompt) type: scanreg /restore with a space between scanreg and the / character.

press enter.


pick a date to restore prior to when this happened.

**this will work on win9x/winME only**

I remember the first time someone showed me that command.. I still can't figure out why instructions for doing it aren't permanently etched on the desktop for eveyone to know!
