Long links

Say I want to post a link in a reply, but the address is really long. For example http//:www.thiswebsite.wherever.whatever.lotsanumbers.co nfusingdialog.org. How can I get this to simply cut and paste into the ubb code instead of having to enter all this data?

Hey Dog,
Do just exactly that, copy and paste.
Start it out with "http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif[/img]

As a word of caution when pasting in the complete URL...watch for the duplicate http:// that occurs when you paste using the UBB Code Icons on the left. As I recently experienced, it won't function properly with the duplicate.

here's how I do it:

goes nowhere (http://http//:www.thiswebsite.wherever.whatever.lotsanumbers.co nfusingdialog.org)

I just highlighted what you typed>> pressed (and hold)Ctrl>> press c and v keys>> typed goesnowhere[ and that's what I do all the time .

http//:www.thiswebsite.wherever.whatever.lotsanumbers.co nfusingdialog.org

From a web browser

highlight the address>> press and hold Ctrl>> press C and V>> repeat the process to where-ever you want to paiste it to.

First thanks sea you are right I went nowhere, thought you might have hidden some goodies there, so I clicked. Thanks to all of you I needed this post. I have trouble posting a link, and edit 5 or 6 times. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
