looking to experiment with linux and wanted to download Mandrake Linux but it is a .iso file. What is that and what do you need to use it?

This (http://www.linux-mandrake.com/howtos/iso/howtoisoen.html) link explains specifically how to do (even for Mandrake). Basically an iso file is a special image file to make a CD......

After I have Mandrake installed on my pc, what version of Apache server do I have to download? There are many versions. The link has a ton of versions, not sure which one to get.

ISO files are also generally recognised by CD burner softwares. In other words if you have a cd burner you might not need to download any application to use ISO files.

Any Mandrake or other Linux users out there? Wanted to ask about setting up a web server for web hosting.

I was kind of hoping G_H would stop in on this one...haven't got Mandrake (am running Linux but haven't set up a server in it) yet and really haven't done much with Apache so I don't really know which version to go after...

Thanks mjc, I'll give it a shot and post the results. What flavor of unix are you using. Are you doing a dual boot?
