uploading

Hi All!
I've just built my first web page using MS home publishing. Do I need a seperate ftp programme, when I try to upload to my isp I get a time out error even if I'm already connected. Tried MS tech but the software is oem. OS Windows ME.

Right, lets go through a check list:

Your probably better downloading a seperate FTP program, somthing like cute ftp or FTP Explorer will do.

You have your website ready to upload, with the first page called "index.html"

You have your webspace setup and ready. that means you also have the account name and password along with the address to upload to.

It should then just be a case of inputing the correct info in the right field in the FTP - then pressing connect!

Hi Jacko,
Thanks for the reply. I downloaded ftpx yesterday but havn't tried it yet. not sure about the first page. I'm trying to upload to my isp where I get 50mb of space free, and I'm presuming I use my email address and password. But I'll look into it.
