socket error

Hi All!
I keep getting a socket error message 10060. When I try to upload to my site, which I think means timed out.Is there any way of adjusting this to stop it from timing out. OS ME.

There are a couple of things that could be causing it...triple check and make sure that the address is correct, and that the password is too (if needed), also the servers may be very busy, or the ftp program you are using doesn't like the servers and isn't establishing a connection...

What company are you using to host your site?

Do they have a support number? email support? You may need to contact them to make sure you have things like the proper ports set...

Hi mjc,
Thanks for your reply. I emailed my isp and they said.
I may have a corruption of my dial-up adapter or the tcp/ip file,
and should replace them. So I am stuffed because I dont no how to replace them.
