REG CD-R AND CD-RW

CD-R and CD-RW disks are not showing the actual capacity when viewed in the explorer,it shows only the amount of space used and the remaining space as zero bytes.Only the CD writting sw shows the capacity and the free space correctly.Is this the usual behaviour ?
