Hello Grayhair and Welcome,
Well, it sounds like you are trying to do your research and coming up empty. At this site that you think you found your board on, can you download a manule? Are there any other identifying numbers on the board.
If you are as old and gray as you make it sound , you may need your thick glasses for this. Take a good look at the lableing on the mobo around any jumbers or pinsets. There should be a couple that say "Fan."
Any more system info would help us.
Good luck

Thanks for your reply,
There are no more numbers on the board (other than the serial #) that provides me with any clue as the to what specific board I have. I did a MOBO search using the bios string, and it came back GVC. I went to their site @ bcmcom.com-sorry I don't know how to "link" this site- and found a page with pictures of their boards. It appears to be the IN810P, but the geometry of the chip is different, as far as placement on the board. Mine is set square to the sides of the board, the pictured board has it 45'd to the edge. My concern has to do whether the bios will support the 850, and what version it is, though the bios chip had a 1.05 sticker on it, which is the latest version listed on their site. I think I will just install it and see what speed it runs at. Because I don 't know for sure what I have, I will leave the bios alone- I don't need to make a door stop out of the machine....I appreciate you time, and yes, I had to use a magnifying glass and found the fan plug in.
