IDE and SCSI drives are not known for working together, usually it's one or the other. If you're using an IDE drive as the boot drive you should be able to get it to work, most motherboards look for an IDE drive first and will boot to it, if you're trying to get the SCSI drive to boot it's difficult.
I would set the boot sequence to boot to IDE first, {A, C, SCSI) and make sure the SCSI configuration is correct. Set the first drive on the SCSI chain with an ID number other than 0, that's usually the controller (I think) and it should work. Make sure the IDE drive is on Primary IDE controller in the Master position, then you should be able to get it to boot so you can transfer files.
Otherwise the easier way might be to copy the files onto a CD-R...
Also look in BIOS and see if you have any settings other than boot sequence that might affect it.
Check back, someone that knows a lot more about SCSI than me might come along and have a better idea.

I have to agree with Pete on the "Boot sequence" idea. What was the position of this SCSI drive before? What interface is the other drive?
