In Windows98 SE,How do I change the default buffer size?I had to re-install win98 on my compaq 7470 ( AMD 533mhz 312megs of RAM ),now I'm haveing problems running my openNap server,keeps running out of buffer space.It seems to me I had to add a string? in the registry somewhere?

Are you attempting to free up more memory for the server program?
You could try seting the min/max vcache file higher, or even insert this line into your system.ini folder under the [386] heading in order for win to use the total RAM before it attempts to use the virtual memory.
ConservativeSwapFileUsage=1
Or are you talking about problems with the recieve/transmit packets options?

Thanks for the Ideas,but neather take care of the problem ;(.The sevrer,just runs intell all buffer space is used.

For that u can add 3 lines (divided with => http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif in CONFIG.SYS file (i.e. DOS=HIGH,UMB AUTO; BUFFERS=75; FILES=100). it will increase ur memory size by load the DOS into HIGH memory area. u have not give the details of RAM as well.
