re: want to download and use X-window emulator

I urgently need to use a X-windows emulator on my PC.
I need to connect to the college network system as I am working on a program using sockets.

I have downloaded an emulator from
http://www.uk.research.att.com/vnc/download.html

but I think I am doing something wrong as it says it cannot connect to this address:

leopard.wmin.ac.uk

this is the address I use when I want to telnet onto the machine.

Please help,
