Anyone else having issues with Crossfire? Bought a second 6870 recently, both me and a coworker (5770's) have the same issue. Running the latest CCC and CAP 12.3 it is as though the hard drive is constantly being accessed and the game will stutter at first and at various times. It is as though the system is going to the hard drive all the time. My coworker thought it was his new drive until I got my second card and had the same issue.

Went back to driver 11.12 and Cap 12.3, same issue. Removed Cap 12.3 and things got a lot better, though still a bit of stutter here and there. Tried driver 12.3 and 11.12 Cap and it was better but not great. So far the best combination seems to be 11.12 for both driver and Cap, but still seems as though the drivers are buggy.

With either CCC and/or Cap 12.3 installed 3dmark 11 shows a very poor CPU/GPU combined score. Less than 50% than with 11.12 installed. And with 11.12 FPS did increase. So it seems it is definitely a driver issue.

Temps are good. Not sure about my coworker but both my slots are x16.

Basically just wondering if others are seeing the same issue, and what drivers/Cap are you using?

Catalyst 12.x has been giving me nothing but problems. Artifacts, missing textures, complete loss of AA - you name it!

I have not yet tried 12.4, which was just released recently, but I am not optimistic at this point. Nearly time for a reinstall on my main rig, anyway, but I will probably take an image before I mess with another 12.x version.

Actually 12.4 has made a difference for me. Profiles were added for some of the games I play and made a much appreciated difference for those games. Still a bit buggy, but much better. Other games run worse than with a single card.

Overall performance for a pair of 6870's is much less than I expect it should be. When I had a pair of 4870's performance was incredible. I only ditched one of the cards and ended up upgrading to the first 6870 because I couldn't keep them cool in the summer and they would crash.

ATI really needs to get their drivers together for CFX. Getting a bit sick of it. But at least my daughter will appreciate the free 6870 as I will likely pull one out before too long.

Anyone want to buy a pair of XFX 6870's?
