Outlook email type

Could anyone tell me how to change the email type of a contact in Microsoft Outlook? I have an address book imported from ACT, and a whole bunch of contacts show an email type of cc:mail or MS Exchange. When I try to email using the address book address, Outlook tries to log on to a cc:mail or Exchange server, and gives me an error. Short of deleting and reentering these contacts, is there a way to just change the email type? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
