View Full Version : replace a CPU fan?

how?

i know it works something like havign a long nose pliers and just fitting in the metal tang onto the CPU processor side so it wraps around. am i correct? is it that easy? tell me its easy!!!! im gonna do that later when i get home.

Re using pliers to fit combination cpu heatsink/fan....

ahhhh !! why do so many ppl use pliers, on one of the clip ends there is an exta cutout, find a flat bladed screwdriver that is slightly WIDER than the cutout, put it in twist it slightly then push it down and hook the other cutout onto the hook on the socket, much easier and almost no chance of damaging the MB if you slip, unlike pliers which do nasty things

Your post states that you want to change the fan.

Leave the heatsink mounted where it's at and replace the
fan by itself.
