I received an image attached to an email, I've downloaded it but when I go to look at it the following error message comes up.
'THe drive or network connection that the shortcut '10004'Ink refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resourse is available'.
The image is only 379 bytes. I'm use AOL as my email and internet server.

Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure how to deal with it but I believe ".INK " is a Pantone Reference File "Mimio Ink File" [Electronic Whiteboard]You may need the software to execute it? maybe someone else here has dealt with this kind of file or you could do a google search on it.

(undoubtedly a Biblical reference to a Microsoft product!)

Its happening because the person that sent you the file actually sent you a shortcut and not the original file.
