View Full Version : Resolution
Having been forced to format the C drive and reinstall Windows 98, as a newbie I find I cannot change the res from 600/400 thus enduring a fuzzy screen. The slider control refuses to move. WHY?

You need to find and install the proper drivers for your video card...currently Windows is most likely using the default Standard VGA, which regardless of video card installed will be 640x480 resolution.
Is the video card a separate card or is onboard video?
Do you have any drivers for it? documentation?

sometimes the screen resolution is constricted by the color quality. can you lower the color quality and raise the screen resolution?

D,
In your most recent post, did you forget the question? http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif
mjc's suggestion regarding your card's video drivers would definitely be your first pursuit. You probably received the drivers on a CD that came with your system...or since you can operate under your current resolution...you might want to check the manufacturer's site and download the latest drivers for your card/system. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif
