A friend of mine has a PC and parts of two others. Recently, his computer will not start at all - the powerpack does not even start. I have tried attaching a power cable to his spare two packs, but neither of those work.
What's going on?

First thing that comes to mind is a bad power cable, second would be bad power supply.
