Okay, here's one for you. I'm setting up a new ABIT KR7A (NO RAID) motherboard (my first). Then I get to the section in the manual where you have to plug in the power LED Header, HDD LED Header, Power On Switch Header, and Speaker Header to PN1 and PN2. The diagrams show + on one side for one header but the pins right next to it might be the other way round. The manual tells you that your LED light will not illuminate correctly and other stuff will happen if you put the pins in the wrong way. I know that the white wire is usually + but there is no way to tell what side goes where. One side of the plug is plastic and might say "HDD-LED" while the other side says nothing and has two metal strips showing. Is there any way to tell which is which?

Also, there are 2 sets of single pin wires that say: +5v, +D, -D and GROUND. I haven't got a clue what to do with those.

Any help gladly accepted.

On the Led connectors the only thing that will happen if you reverse the plug.
Is that the led will not work. In that case Just unplug it , Turn it around and reconnect it..

The +5 +d -d and ground sound Like a USB header.

That Board is listed as having 2 usb connections.
One Front and 1 rear

If you don’t have a need for the extra 2 usb ports You don’t need to connect them
