When I do Disk Veryfier of Ontrack System Suite 2000 on my PC I have the response for a lot of files (about 200) that it is impossible to acces them, they are used by another process.
I join here a little extract from the response.

C:\Programmi\Ontrack\SystemSuite\SSUITE.EXE
C:\Programmi\Ontrack\SystemSuite\ZipLib.dll
C:\WINDOWS\Cookies\index.dat
C:\WINDOWS\Cronologia\History.IE5\index.dat
C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\FONTS\8514oem0.FON
C:\WINDOWS\FONTS\8514sys0.FON

C:\WINDOWS\FONTS\ARIALBD.TTF
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ADVAPI32.DLL

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\AU30MIX.DRV
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\AU30WAVE.DRV
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\AU30WT.DRV
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BATMETER.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\BROWSEUI.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CFGMGR32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\COMCTL32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\COMDLG32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\G400.DRV
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\GDI.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\GDI32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\ICMP.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\KERNEL32.DLL

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WS2_32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WS2HELP.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WSOCK32.DLL
C:\WINDOWS\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat
C:\WINDOWS\WIN386.SWP
Verify failed. One or more files were unreadable.

I can understand the response for files of Ontrack System Suite and some others. But not for all.
When doing Disk Verifier the only active tasks were Explorer, Systray and Ontrack System Suite.
May this response indicate a real problem?
What can I do?

Many thanks,

Andrea

Looking at the names of most of the files, I'd think it should be no problem. It's mostly things always in use by Windows, your graphics and sound cards, etc. A couple don't make any sense, like cookies, History and Temp. Internet files, but I wouldn't worry about them, that could be related to the automatic update feature. In any case, I don't think they are any problem.

If the system is working fine, don't worry about it, looks like no real problem.
