Installing a CD-RW drive...

Hello,
I just got a CD-RW drive that I'm about to install in my Compaq desktop... but I'm a bit confused about the following:

Should I set it as a slave or master? Note that I already have a DVD drive that came up with the PC and I was wondering if it's safe to set it as a slave and use the CD-RW as a master...

You should have no problems running the DVD as slave and the cd-rw as master

Well, with my new CD-RW (Ricoh 24x10x40) the manual insisted that in your case place the CD-RW as secondary slave with the dvd/cd-rom device as master. Not sure why, but it definately insisted to do it that way.
