Anyone know how or is it possible to have windows xp pro shut all the way down and shut off .thanks

It sure is, just make sure your computer supports ACPI. Go to Device Manager (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager). Expand the 'Computer' entry and see if it mentions ACPI. If it just says 'Standard PC' then unfortunately it's probably not supported. If it does say ACPI then it should already be shutting off automatically!
