hard drives

new to fixing puters myself...am not scared of them..but need help...if i install a new hard drive..do i need to reload windows or is it on the hard drive already...silly question i know..but im new..thanks to all for your help

A new hard drive is just a blank drive, waiting for whatever you want to put on it, after partitioning and formatting it (partitions are optional, formatting is not).
