I need to add a second hard drive to a scsi set up. can I set a 'slave' and 'master' with scsi, using the same cable (is it the same principle as IDE), or do I need a RAID card because I have more than 1 hard drive????

If we couldn't laugh, we would all go insane...especially in the IT industry.
SCSI doesn’t work Like IDE.
You must set the scsi ID of each drive and in many cases you must set the termination of the last drive on the chain.
If you have one drive already installed.
Check the drive settings and the termination jumper.
More than likely If it is a Boot drive it is Scsi 0 Zero
Check the termination jumper. If it is set to terminate the chain. Remove the jumper.
Set the new drive for the next ID (id 1) and set the terminate on the new drive.
Install the drive and connect the cables
If you old drive is set to ID 1 then just set the new drive to ID 2 and so one.
Then you should follow the normal preparations for using the drive.(Fdisk +Format)
