Hello Yid and Welcome,
First off, I have no idea what LOP.COM is.
But we could use more info.
What OS?
What problems are you haveing?
Have you tried "Add/Remove programs?"
Have you tried "Find files and folders" for this and deleted it?

Let us know a little more about whats going on and we can better help you http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Have you D/L something from there?? does it show some kind of Icons on the desk top? you may have to use a program that wipes the info over with 1's and 0's like Evidence Eliminator or some thing that is that powerful?

AND NO I DID NOT KNOW About it until I looked it up http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif "Whew save my butt" Been there done that http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Yoda, that is only one of many categories in www.lop.com. (http://www.lop.com.) We don't know where Yid1971 has been, and it may be embarassing to make that assumption.

Try this.
From the start Menu and the run box type in msconfig.
When it opens click on the System.ini tab
then click on the + sign next to the [Boot]
Below that you should see
Shell=explorer .exe

If it has shell=explorer.exe lop.com
edit out everything After the explorer.exe
Then use the apply button on the bottom of the program windows and exit.
It will tell you It needs to reboot your system.
Allow it to do so.
When it restarts lop should be gone.

what originally happenned was i went on a crack site called cracks am which was recomended by a friend and once you had selected which crack you wanted it offers you to goto another site and instead of going to the site i wanted i went to another server which downloaded shortcuts to gambling pawn computers and such other stuff whereas i should have gone to the exit optoin at the top since then whenever ive got a page displayed as server not available it switched onto lop.com.Ive since managed to get lop off by going to their site and downloading the uninstall from them but myself and my partner regulary use ebay trading site to buy and sell and everytime we try and go to our history or leave comments the site appear to crash we can browse to buy but cant seem to administer anything and everyone else seems to be able to use it entirely has any one else came across this problem i am currently running windows xp pro if that helps anyone

Yid

Sorry about the info I gave above.
It doesn’t work with XP. Only 9x
I have a habit of assuming people are using 9x

Unfortunately it looks like you were put through the POP-UP next site wringer .
Among others that you have contracted along with the LOP BS.
You may have a number of Trojans embedded in your system.

I’d start by running a good updated Virus scanner. Better yet two scanners.
Then clear out your History , cache and temp files .
All of them ,,, system and browsers files.

Hi Rick,

I don't nkow if I should post another topic or not, cause the question has nothing to do with Yid's problem.

I ran the msconfig stuff that you talked about, and looked at the start up tab. Now, I only have 96Mb RAM (sloooooooooww), and I read somewhere that a way to speed up (a little) your computer if you don't have a lot of RAM was by getting rid of some of those startup programs and/or stoping them using ctrl+alt+del closing them this way.
The guy who said that also said that everything could be deleted except for Explorer and Systray.

Question: is this true? and if yes, can I do it? (=> unchecking the startup programs in the msconfig thing)

I don't know what half of those programs are... and unless somebody tells me otherwise, I don't think i use them.

Hello LAU,
Yes this should have been in a new thread, but since it has been answered many times and you are already here, I will tell you this:
Explorer is the only thing you need on to work in a windows environment (it is windows).
Systray is the little tray in the lower corner (with speaker and clock) that shows some of the programs that are on.
Other then that, it is a matter of personal choice.
A/V, firewalls, and Office progs are some of the most common that people like to have come on during startup.
I have nothing. I will turn on what I want, when I need it.

I believe a Google (http://www.google.com) search for "windows startup" will keep you busy for a bit on what the different listings are http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Good luck http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif

Get "The Cleaner," a MooSoft program. It is for cleaning trojans.
Also get "Ad-Aware," it is for cleaning your system of Advertisement programs. I think that's what you're looking for...

Well Hawk,
As I said above to Lau, it is best if you start your own topic, especialy if it has nothing to do with the topic you are hitchhiking on http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif

Please do not respond here, but start your own topic and be as descriptive as you can with the items listed.
Ad-Aware is a program designed to let you know what is attaching ads to your computer use. If Ad-Aware comes up in the list, then guess what http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Welcome to the http://www.pcguide.com/ubb/pcgubb.gif , looking forward to you post on this http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/cool.gif
