It's embarressing even to ask this, I did it a long time with my machine but forgot how to do it and can't find the info in the windows help system.
How does a friend prevent that password request box come up when he turns on his machine. He already knows that he just has to cancel it when it comes up.

Tell him to hit ok instead of cancel, this will set the password as blank and tell him to also go into network settings and change the logon from client for MS to windows logon.

This is assuming of course we are talking about a standalone 95/98 machine.
