I successfully determined that I have a MB520N PcPartner motherboard. I went to the PCPartner site and downloaded the zip file to flash the BIOS. When I unzipped the file, there was a note.txt file that read as follows:

MB520N (430VX) AMI BIOS - May /97

Modifications Done:
* Added Support for El Torito CDROM boot image

1. 520N503S.ROM MB520N (430Vx) BIOS with SMC 669 I/O
2. 520N503U.ROM MB520N (430VX) BIOS with UMC8669 I/O
3. 520N503G.ROM MB520N (430Vx) BIOS with Prime3C I/O

Important : Please identify your motherboard clearly, before Flash
upgrade

* The Amiflash.com program is not applicable on windows 95 environment.
* Please boot the system with MS-DOS 6.22 for upgrade BIOS.

May,1997

1) How can I determine which of the three versions of this motherboard is the one I have?

2) I am currently running Windows 95. What is the easiest way to boot with MS-DOS 6.22?

All comments are greatly appreciated.

When your system first starts to boot there is a number at the bottom left on the screen hit the pause/Break key and copy down the number then press any key to continue the boot up process

I have already done that. That is how I determined in the first place that it is a PCPartner motherboard, specifically the MB520N. The BIOS ID string does not reveal which of the three versions of this particular motherboard is the one I own. If looking at the motherboard would help, where specifically would I look?

All comments greatly appreciated.

Please look for markings on BIOS chip itself on the Motherboard.

Also, check the markings on the Southbridge chip.

Luck.
