How many partitions can i make on a hard drive?

Hello, Can you tell me how many partition can i make one my hard drive.

24...that is the max unless you are using some kind of software that allows you to name the partitions intead of assigning them letters (26 minus the 2 reserved letters a & b, plus one less for each other device like CD-ROMS)

That is in DOS/Win9x.....XP (and other NT kernel Win) can be different and other operating systems are different also.
