Hello guys, How are you? Anyway I just wanted to know how I can find out the IP address my router is recieving from my ISP short of actually calling my ISP and asking them for it.

Is there any tool like PING,WINIPCFG,IPCONFIG,TRACERT anything like that I can use to find out what IP address my router is assigned? I have AT&T cable. I also have a Netgear DSL/Cable router.

I'm thinking that my hostname or username ATT Cable assigned me when I signed up with them has and actual IP address right? For example: mclene.attbi.xxxx or something like that. Can I decipher that hostname into an actual IP address by using tracert? Much thanks and I'm sorry if I make things overly complicated or hard to understand.

Pay a visit to www.GRC.com (http://www.GRC.com) and use the shields Up test page

https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

This page will display your true IP address
they also have a Little util that you can use to check it .
“Free IP Agent”

Your Provider will assign an IP to you when your lease expires
This is normally done every 24 hours.
Run “winipcfg” under win9x then look at more info
it should show the lease info date/times
