I accuired 2 macintosh hard drives and I am thinking of building a computer out of them. I am wondering if it is worth it to put two hard drives that were made in 1988. And my other question was that I have 6 3 1/2 disk drives that were pulled from working Macs at school. Would I be able to put them in an IBM if I got the correct ribbon cable.

What Make and Model are the drives?
Without knowing that we can’t begin to give you an answer.
BTW Mac uses SCSI drives.
If your drives are compatible.
You can chain 7 scsi drives to one controller

That early a model, i'd have to agree with Rick, they're gonna be SCSI. Today's modern MAC's use IDE just like Intel.
Floppies ( 3.5 ) have pretty much always been used in an IDE type interface-so you should have no problems using them in an Intel clone with the proper cable.

On the Pro drives you should find a Number on them also.
The Model Number .LPSxxx
that will give you more details to the size and format
