okay, my system has become unstable recently, but I'm having trouble pinning down what the problem is. In the process, I found that I have an IRQ conflict. My nic and my sound card are sharing irq15. I looked around in my bios to find where I could set these manually or tell it to reconfigure itself, but to no avail. How do I get around this? The problem itself is that every other reboot starts w/ a blue screen when windows starts, and every other boot goes fine. I'm using AMDs latest busmaster IDE controller drivers which are also showing up as conflicts in the system information. (they are conflicting w/ "primary ide controller")
Problems started when I added my pioneer 115 16x dvd drive, after which point I went thru the chaotic process of updating the bus master drives, and now things are all messed up and I'm not sure what to do.

here's my specs
msi 6167 mobo bios 1.5
diamond mx300 w/ Aureal reference drivers
guillemot sdr 3d prophet geforce
d-link 10/100 nic

any ideas?

Find out what IRQ's are available. When you open Device Manager highlight Cmputer and click Properties and it will give a list of all IRQ's in use. See if you have any available.

IRQ 15 is usually the Secondary IDE controller, which is why you show a conflict in IDE controllers, somehow it got swapped to 14, which is the primary IDE.

Post your IRQ list here, and we'll see if we can find open ones and rearrange a bit.

Sound cards usually take IRQ 5, NIC cards usually want 9 or 10.
