I'm with btopenworld surftime & just about had enough of them. all you can get from support is "your problem is being dealt with & you will get a reply very quickly"
diss-connects are more and more frequent & they've just put the charges up.

Well that's my moan, now to the problem/question.

I have 2 accounts.., 1 pay as you go (freeserve) with 2 address (each configured as a seperate account)
& 1 surftime with bt. this account has 2 numbers, 1 a surftime number, the other a daytime number which inccurs charges.
All accounts are set to my surftime number (incoming & outgoing) & all work perfectly (during surftime)

If I dial up during the day, I recieve mail on all accounts but can I SEND an e-mail - NO. outlook just acts as if the outgoing e-mails were'nt there. I have just spent the best part of an hour, juggling my account settings to send an urgent e-mail.(which eventually I did) http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif

I am going to change my isp, but does this happen with all surftime accounts? or is it just bt.?

PS. I changed the settings back, & sent e-mails to myself (1 to home & 1 to work) just to check & note what was happening, damn things went, no problem. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

then I recieved an e-mail so I replied immediately, outlook just ignored it. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/mad.gif

by now it was coming up to 1800 (surftime) so I closed my connection & dialed up my surftime number: e-mail went no problem. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

Hi there Vic
Like you I have the Freeserve pay as you go , I can recieve my mails from it but am unable to access my account when I connect using either of the two listed numbers. (I have had this mail address since I first went on line a couple of years ago)

But to your question.
I have BT Surftime with Eclipse as my ISP and havew NO problems, either with connection or mails (Outlook Express) First time connection every time and very very rarely dropped connections. Under £70.00 a year for ISP Plus BT surftime (evenings and weekends) There is a choice for 24x7 for under £100.00 a year plus surftime. I would stronly recommend Eclipse to anyone. The tech support is a national (same rate as it would be for me to phone you) rate number and the staff are VERY helpful, the couple of times I have had to call I have never been kept waiting and always recieved first class service.
And yes! I concur BT internet connection is about one of the worste going. It ranks alongside other Freeeserve otions. If you have a bad enemy these are the ISP's to recomend to them. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Hi ernie,

I have just been looking at eclipse here (http://www.eclipse.net.uk/
)

which looks tempting, I was also considering Powergen

here (http://www.pgen.net/information_products_evenings.htm)

which also looks good.

I will check them out in more detail over w/e. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif
