Question:

How do I change the function of a key on a keyboard? (change an unused key to the Windows key)

Background Info:

I am putting an AMD Athlon 900 machine into a case from the 80's (primarily because of the amazing airflow, my lack of $$, and an attempt at being original)
As part of this project, I have decided to use an old keyboard, also probably from the late 80's early 90's. The keyboard features a macro key in the lower left hand corner next to the <Control> key. I'd like to change the key into a Windows key. I have no fear of cracking open the case and learning new things, that is actually what I hope to do.
Thanks for the help!

Is the keyboard an AT/XT Keyboard or a newer PS/2 keyboard?

What is the computer cases form factor? AT or ATX? Micro Tower or Full Tower?

An AMD Athlon requires an ATX form factor motherboard I believe I don't think they prodcue AT form factor motherboards for that Processor. Anyway you will most likely need an Original 9 pin DIN connection to PS/2 adapter if you want to use that keyboard and I'm not entirely certain they even make such adapters. At any rate keyboards can be had for very cheap these days under 10 dollars so i'd save yourself the headache and just pick up a newer PS/2 type keyboard or a USB keyboard which is both PS/2 and USB compataible.

As for your wanting to map certain keyboard keys to other keys and assigning them differn't functions I believe that can be done by navagating to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Keyboard this is assuming you have a Microsoft Operating System.

Actually scratch that and i'm sorry for so many edits on this post but I looked in the Control Panel and it doesn't seem that your going to have the ability to mapp certain key functions to which ever key you want atleast not with that control panel applet. Someone else know?
