I recently have been building up an AT system with some existing parts laying around and building them into a baby AT case(new) with a PA2005 mainboard(new)with a Pentium 166MMX processor. After assembling everything together I can not get the power supply to start. I have tested 110 voltage (correct voltage set) through the power switch and into the power supply. If I listen carefully when I turn off the power supply I can faintly hear and oscillator or a capacitor discharging for a half second immmediatly upon hitting the off switch. The fan will occasionally make 1/4 rev immediatly upon hitting the on button, but now power and no lights on anything. Is there something anybody could suggest I am doing wrong. Does the power supply need any kind of signal from the mother board that it is not getting?
Any help would be appreciated

1) An AT supply does not require a signal from the mobo to work
2) Check that your mobo isn't touching the case anywhere it is not suppose to. Extended use while there is a short may damage the supply. You may have to remove everything from the case and lay it out on a table to troubleshoot, actually the best idea.
3) Remove all components except the cpu, video card, and ram then add each component to see which one causes the problem.
4) With regaurds to item 2 spacers or insulating washers may be required.
5) Be carefull the power switch on an AT type supply is LIVE (fullpower from your power cord 117v ac) and I can't express this enough.
