This is quite possibly the weirdest thing that has ever happened to my PC.

Everything started Thursday morning. I attempted to turn on my computer, however the monitor remained all black and then the PC started making this horribly loud *beep* *beep* noise over and over again. I pulled out all of the wires, then put them in one at a time and attempting to start the PC until everything worked without a problem. Finally, Thursday night when I turned off the PC I made sure that there were no errors and Windows shut down no problem.

Friday when I attempted to turn on the PC the same thing happened as Thursday. I attempted to remedy the situation in a similar manner as Thursday, but the computer refused to work. I unplugged it and made sure that all of the wires were attached and everything, but it still refused to work. I then pulled out all of the devices and cards one thing at a time (and then attempting to turn on the comp) to see which device was causing the problem, and it would keep beeping until I pulled out absolutely everything (all cards, cd/hard/floppy drives, RAM, and even the power cord of the CPU fan) except the CPU and it would still beep horribly. When I pulled out the CPU the beeping stopped, but I think that is simply because it needed the CPU to run.

Here are my system specs -
Celeron 433 (slot 1), 192MB RAM (64 old and 128 that I had recently installed, the new 128 are not the problem, I already checked that), 3COM Gaming Modem 56k, I forget exact sound card specs but I know its a relatively new Diamond card with A3D technology, 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI video card.

So, can anyone please help me identify and troubleshoot the problem?
Thanks a bunch.

can you even get into the bios settings??? does it bring up anything on your screen at all. My first thought is if it is a problem in Bios, if you can get to the settings for bios, then maybe restore defaults, or take off the battery from the mobo and then put it back to reset cmos. If that doesn't help, then it sounds like your board, your bios chip, or your processor and ram is shot. Maybe Paleo has a better idea than that.

Can't get into BIOS or anything, the monitor never turns on, it's simply turn on computer, wait a few seconds, beep beep. I pulled out the RAM and it still beeped, and I cleared the CMOS/BIOS and it still beeped, the only time that it stopped beeping was when I pulled out the processor and I'm guessing that is simply because nothing works without the processor.

Get the manual for your BIOS (and/or motherboard), or obtain info on it and it's BIOS on the Internet. Look for a section on BIOS beep codes. If you can't find any info on this topic for your board, look for generic info on the Internet. Just compare the beep sequence you get to the book or info you have, and it should tell you the problem (what to look for or fix). The BIOS uses beep codes because it hasn't started up the video card yet. This should help you solve the problem. Or you could try kicking it.

Count the beeps, and see if it's continuous or a cartain number and a pause.

Continuous-Bad motherboard.

8-Bad memory; memory or video card not seated.

9-Bad CMOS chip or motherboard.

Soon as I come up with all the answers...they change the questions!!

It is a continous (and loud may I add) *beeep**beep**beeep**beep* I left it on for roughly 4-5 minutes (as much as my sanity would take) to be sure of it.
