It can somtimes cause a problem if you have changed to the drive letter you want to format!
Try changing to your a: (then type "format c:" )

To make the Hard Disk bootable, you'll have to type from the command prompt:
A:\format_c:_/s ---> ("_" represents a spacebar)
This will format your HDD and transfer the system files from the floppy.

Where did you here that?
They can't turn off a switch like a light bulb-it's part of the code of the program. Unless someone hacked that particular .exe, then it'll work as it was originally constructed.
I assure you that the /system switch still works just peachy.
But...there is no reason to use it when doing an install of Windows. Simply FDISK/FORMAT your primary partition and make sure you have real mode CD drivers loaded, then simply change yor directory to the CD and type " setup ". This is of course if you are using one of the 95 kernel OS's ( 95/98/ME ).
If you are using NT/2k/XP-just simply boot from the CD-it's much simpler than navigating to the \I386 folder and runing the Winnt command.
