How can I improve resourse procentage ??

My PC has 64 MB of RAM and 57 of it is free the system properties show 80% at the beginning .After I open the Outlook Express it drops to 74% .I would like to improve those percentages but I don't know how .I would appreciate if someone could give some ideas of what to do .I thank you in advance .

Shut down back ground apps. mine will drop at least 4% and if I run ICQ that sucker will eat 15 to 20% in a Heart beat.

Like Yoda says, shut down those background apps! Check in your start up menu for those sneeky programs that you dont need and delete them (dont worry, youll only delete the shortcut not the entire program http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/wink.gif )

You could also check whats happening at start up by loading msconfig(start, run, type "msconfig").

Go to the startup tab and have a look whats there! Good luck!
