Hey guys, hope you can help me. When I click on a sound link, I get a blank screen and my address box shows "JavascriptOpenPopWin" and a bunch of other symbols. Any idea what the problem is? Thanks for your help.
JavascriptOpenPopWin
That is telling your browser to use a Java script routine to open a popup window...either the script is misconfigured on the site or your browser has a problem with that particular kind of script.
You didn't mention what kind of click...right or left?

I get the same thing, right or left clicking. Anything I can try to correct the problem? Thanks

You might try using lower security settings in your browser or a different browser

Hey again guys- in relation to the above problem, I right clicked to view the properties of the file; maybe this helps-PROTOCOL: unknown protocol, TYPE: not available, ADDRESS: javascriptopenpopwin ("song5slow.html"%20350%20120%20"resizable"%2020%2020). I tried lowering settings, to no avail- if it helps, I use Internet Explorer 5. Thanks again for any advice.

Are you saying you right clicked on the link? Then went to properties? You could let us know where the link is or even post it here to see if anyone else can access it. I wonder if it's just a dead link.

yes, Fruss, that's what I did. These "click to listen" links are at learnpianoonline.com. None seem to work for me that last week or so- before that, they were working fine. Can you give them a shot and let me know? Thanx.

Sorry. Can't help you, I'm just a Bass player.
Just kidding, I am though but I play a little guitar and keys as well and I'm always glad to help anyone interested in music.
I went to the piano link, downloaded the update for quicktime player that it said I needed and then it worked fine. It was a slow download but I haven't gone see how many megabytes it was yet. I listened to the left then the right then both hands play America The Beautiful and they all worked.
My current thought is you may have somehow set something other than quicktime player as your default player say, like Windows Media Player and now it won't play for you. For a try, open quicktime player to set the wheels in motion, then go and try to hear the lessons. If this doesn't work we'll have to try something else.
Can you hear CD's in your CDROM?
Open volume controls by right clicking the speaker in the taskbar and make sure you're on playback, select options and enable items in there by leaving a check on them. Try one at a time but it will likely be a combo of volume control and something else that will let it come through. It's not Wave because mine's not checked at the moment and it still works. Anyway, try these ideas and post back.

hey Ted, thanks for your time. When I go to the site homepage, the intro music, I guess, automatically downloads and I can hear that. I opened Quicktime, went to the lessons and tried to listen, but I continue to get the same error I noted above. In response to your second question, I can listen to CDs on my CDrom thru my windows media player. I don't know if I acccidently changed any default settings or not, but not long ago, I had no problem getting sound on the site. If you've got any other suggestions, I'd love to hear 'em. Thanks again
Are you running pop-up blocker?

hey, mjc. At one time I was, but not sure now. It's not showing in my program files, and I can't find it on my harddrive anywhere else. I think I uninstalled it a while back. Could that cause this type problem? Thanks for your help.
Yeah....I have problems playing the links in Mozilla because of Java restrictions I have in place in it, but in IE no problems. If I then copy the link from pop up window (which is what QT is in) and paste it in Mozilla it plays without a problem...so it looks like it may be a Java problem on your machine if you do not have a pop-up blocker running.
