Please guide me how to correct this error: "vsmon has caused an error in kernel32.dll. vsmon will now close. If you continue to experience problme try restarting your computer". This error showed up after I installed a program and selected not to display on desktop. (some of you must remember me Re:chat programs - blocking so that my guest can not chat using my computer!!!) If I uninstalled this program than everything works as normal. I think vsmon also know as true victor belongs to ZoneAlarm. Please reply.

Vsmon is the guts of Zone Alarm without it ZA would not be Alarm anything.
If I uninstalled this program than everything works as normal. I think vsmon also know as true victor belongs to ZoneAlarm. Please reply.
which program did you delete?? PLS clarify.
the program you D/L and did not want on desk top I guess your talking the short cut Icon? You would have been better off letting it put the shortcut on the desk top and then delete the icon. You are better off not down loading anything while za is running.ZA is not a Anti virus program it is a firewall. and should be treated as such.
The true vector probobly needs replenishing unless someone has a link to the directions on how to do this I would go to ZA's web site and read thru there FAQ Section.Other than that you'll have to uninstall ZA and Reinstall it.

Thanks for the reply. During instalation, the program asked whether to display the icon on desktop or not to display so I choose not to since I don't want other users to see that they been stop to use chat programs. When I say "If I delete - I was refering to this program" and not ZoneAlarm. Do you think I should do ahead and reinstal and let the icon appear on the desktop and rename it if possible as something else or I should just delete this icon ?

I can't tell you what to do here, I see were still trying to keep the company from using the computer. You can rename the Icon but the program will still be the same name in your program files or you can delete the Icon but it will remain in the program files? catch 22.As far as Vsmon there is still the problem of the error not sure which program your useing so this may not be compadable with ZA? agin I think that the true vector needs to be replenished to get rid of the error messages.

in all seriousness if your just down loading different programs to try out to see if you can keep these people from using your computer your eventually going to blow the registry right out of the water. which is a shame this is your house and your computer. Aparently they have no respect for you or your household? I personally would beat the Hell out of someone and throw them to the curb.

Thanks again. I uninstalled the security program and reinstalled again with short cut icon on the desktop and removed the short cut icon from the desktop, it did worked but yesterday when I tried to shut down, there it goes again with the same error message. You are right this security program conflicts with ZA. I think I should email about this conflict info to security program developers, may be it will be helpful to them to fix the bug. I will keep you posted on this. About kicking the guest at home, with due respect to elders from my wife side, I rather play it differently without their knowledge and pretend that I don't know why attitude!!!!!
